At the end of December 2025, Jules Koundé chose Benin over a holiday. There he met 50 children from the “Écris ton hymne” (“Write your anthem”) educational project, run by the PatrimoineZer association: poems recited and performed about the pride of being Beninese, friendship, love and life; questions about his career, his ambitions, Barça and his outfits; then a snack, and shirts and goodies donated by FC Barcelona.

“It’s always an immense joy to come to Benin and discover a little more of the country each time. This trip was very special for me,” he wrote. Away from the spotlight, he was also spotted on the beach playing ball with the children.
